Re-Examining Tactical Mindset - Peter N. Spagnolo
Discusses the dynamics of SWAT operations in a terror environment, how the operator must view his enemy and how that view must impact the operation. When dealing with a terrorist, it may be less a matter of arrest and prosecute and more one of kill to save lives or be killed.
The Reality of Combat Shooting and How to Train For It - Randy Watt
The Reality of Combat Shooting and How to Train For It: based on a study of officer-involved shootings in a variety of circumstances and media, a review of the most current training related principles, philosophies and concepts, the application of the latest technology, and the presenter's personal experiences. This presentation focuses and what works and what doesn't in police combat, and discusses how to train to have the best chance to win in a lethal confrontation.
Islam vs. Christianity...Understanding the Conflict, Past, Present, and Future - Stan Standridge
Stan Standridge is a Lieutenant with the Abilene Police Department and a recent graduate of the FBI National Academy. He is a member of one of Abilene's largest Churches, and because of his own faith, he has studied Islam for nearly five years. Does the Qur'an really differ from the Bible? Is Allah God?Stan's desire is for all officers to know what Islam is and how it differs from Christianity. Only then will officers be prepared for the future.
Virginia Tech Debrief - John Glass
This session will provide a presentation covering a timeline of events, and lessons learned.
